New pilots requiring CCA

Overview

Certain airlines may require new pilots to undertake a Cabin Crew Attestation (CCA) as part of their induction training.

If we at AAME undertook your Pilot Class 1 medical in the last six months then an examination may not be required. So, your application form will enable the attestation.

Preparation

You need to provide your AME the following documents prior to the consultation:

Current medical certificates.

(Do not sign or date) Complete before you attend (declare any chronic complaints e. g. nose bleeds, asthma, allergies, migraine, arthritis and medications)

e. g.  Passport or Driving Licence and your CAA consent form.

New applicants should bring a brief patient summary from their GP surgery with reports for any health condition e. g. “childhood murmur” – even if you are well.

If we at AAME undertook your Pilot Class 1 medical in the last six months then this will not be required.

If an examination is needed Please bring your Spectacles even if you use contact lenses.

New applicants

If you have not previously been examined (in the last six months) by AAME then you will be required to attend for an examination. 

Existing applicants

If you are an existing applicant and you have been seen within the last six months by us, you will not be required to attend in person. However, you need to submit the application form.

White Coat Hypertension

If you might have raised blood pressure at medicals then please abstain from alcohol, caffeine, fizzy and herbal drinks for 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Do Home Blood Pressure Monitoring for 2 week’s with twice-a-day readings. Your machine should be checked annually.

Body Mass Index (BMI)

If your BMI is over 35, you will require further investigations. Any certificates may be time limited.

How long is the examination?

The appointment takes approximately 30 minutes.

New applicants

When will I get my certificate?

You will be issued with an Attestation Certificate which complies with Air Law. (AMC1 MED.C.030).

If you become unwell you must seek advice as soon as possible. Meanwhile you must NOT exercise any privileges of the licence.
